Swain Breaks Down the Tennessee Wide Receivers
Working with Tennessee Sports Radio has its advantages. For one, former Tennessee football players are just feet away from where I host my radio show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Thursday, I had the chance to pick former UT receiver Jayson Swain’s brain about the Vols deep group of inexperienced, young receivers. First, Swain offered his assessment of Wednesday evening’s practice after a lackluster practice on Tuesday evening. Swain certainly thought the second day of practice was better than the first in full pads.
“Absolutely,” Swain said. “Tuesday’s practice, first day of full pads, it seemed like the second practice of a two-a-days. You want the team to be excited about practicing in full pads and it was really a slack practice where coach [Butch] Jones really had to challenge his football team.
“They answered the challenge. They answered the bell. They came out yesterday and you could see the intensity level was different than it was Tuesday.”
