The Erik Ainge Show
BRILLIANT AND IRREVERENT
The Erik Ainge Show
Weekday mornings from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Erik Ainge has given a whole new meaning to sports entertainment in Tennessee. With a loyal fan base that includes both rabid sports fans and people who have never listened to sports or talk radio in their life, Ainge has single-handedly turned the market upside down and kicked it in the ass – and he does it every morning.
No one covering Tennessee sports has the pro and college sports background, experience and insight that Erik brings to Tennessee Sports Radio. He is a fan, but he speaks his mind honestly and openly. He knows what he’s talking about, but he’s edgy, personable and humorous. He respects University of Tennessee Athletics and its traditions, but he’s no one’s puppet. There simply has never been anything like the Erik Ainge Show … ever.
Ainge was 17-5 as a starting quarterback at University of Tennessee who later played for the New York Jets in the NFL. As a senior in 2007, he passed for 3,522 yards and 31 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions. Despite throwing 513 passes his senior year, he was only sacked three times. He completed 62.6 percent of his passes and had a 135.48 QB rating.
Ainge set a number of school records during his time with the Vols, including a stellar senior season in 2007 in which he set marks for touchdown passes in a game (seven, against Kentucky in a 52-50 win), completions and attempts (325 and 519), and had the second-best season for yardage with 3,522, only behind Peyton Manning’s 3,819 in his senior season.
Erik Ainge regularly lands the most sought-after interviews including coaches, players and sports analysts from all parts of Tennessee and across the country. Past Erik Ainge Show guests include Arian Foster, Phillip Fulmer, Rex Ryan, Bruce Pearl, Leonard Little, Butch Jones, David Cutcliff, and many more. National celebrities like Gilbert Gottfried and NFL, MLB, and NBA players and coaches have also appeared on the show.
Join Tennessee Sports Radio’s official “Wildcard” every weekday morning and start your day off the way God intended it – hilarious and out of control.
